Respect Each Other - Treat people the same way as you would like them to treat you. Acting like a jerk to other people is harmful to everyone.
Act Like Adults - Even though we are aware not everyone in the game may be over 18, we expect that you can pull up your pants and talk out any problems you may have with other players in a mature manner.
Come to the Mods with any serious Issues - If you feel that someone is harassing you or is consistently acting in an inappropriate or in a manner towards you or your character in a way that is making you feel uncomfortable, please contact the mods about the issue. We will do what we can to make Fortress RP a comfortable environment for all of our players, and we will do our best to act as a safe and confidential ear for anyone who is having an issue with the game or other players that they would be uncomfortable talking about publicly.
No Hate - While characters might hate people based on their religion, sex, gender, race, or orientation, it is unacceptable for players to state hateful or discriminatory opinions anywhere in the game comms.
In Character /= Out of Character - What someone says and how their characters act in game may be completely different from how the players act out of game. Please do not pull IC grudges or drama into real life.
No God Modding - You are only in control of your character. While sometimes prompting other characters to do thing is necessary to keep the flow of a thread going, who ever you are playing with should have the ability to react to what your character does to them. You may always talk over with another player plans on what your character will do, and you are always welcome (but never required) to cede temporary control to another player for the purposes of a scene.
No Metagaming - While you as a player may be able to figure things out based off a knowledge of another characters canon, your character will not necessarily have access to that same information in order to draw the same conclusions.
Explicit material must be friendlocked, cut, and visibly warned - Any post that contains serious violence, gore, or sexual content must be friend locked, include a warning at the top of the post stating what type of explicit content the post contains, and the actually contend hidden under a cut.
No sexual content involving minors or players under 18 - Just don't do it. With characters it's creepy, with players it's illegal. This applies to posts, threads, and anything in the OOC comms. If you must play out sex scene in these circumstances, please either handwave it or deal with it off site.
Ask other players before doing something crazy to their character/4th walling - It's common courtesy to give someone some warning before you slice their character’s head off or reveal some dark secret your character knew about them because they read their comic. If you are going to do something that severely affects another player’s character, please talk it over with them first. If a player does not want you to 4th wall their character, you are free to feel suspicious and compare him to Superdude from Citropolis, but never actually draw the conclusion.
No Musecest - While you are allowed to play multiple characters, and it is sometime necessary to have them interact, please try to keep it to a minimum and definitely do not allow your character to develop strong relations with your other characters.
Everyone is required to post to AC every month - To meet the activity requirements you will need to accomplish one of the following:
If you are unable to meet these requirements in one month, your character will be placed on probation. When the next AC period arrives, you will have to meet both one of the above two requirements plus any deficit you missed in the previous AC period. Any characters who do not meet these requirements at the end of the probationary period will be ejected from the game.
You may hiatus through one AC period: You may declare a hiatus on the Hiatus Post that allows you to skip one AC check. You may not declare a hiatus if you have not met at least one AC since your previous hiatus. You may declare a hiatus while on probation, though you will still be expected to make up any deficit when your character returns.
Dropped/Idled characters may be re-apped after a full month from the drop date has passed - If a character is dropped or ejected from the game for activity reasons, the original player may not reserve or reapply with that character until a month after the date their character was dropped or ejected. In the intervening month, other players may reserve or apply to play that character instead.
Reserves - You may reserve a character for two weeks, in which time no one else may apply for that character. However, if you do not apply for that character by the end of the two week period, the reserve is lost and other players may apply to play the reserved character. If you fail to apply for a character you have reserved, or your application is rejected, you may not reserve that character again for a month after the reserve end date. You may still reapply with that character in that month, though others will have the chance to reserve it.
Banhammer - If you are found to be in constant violation of the rules, you will be given a warning for a period of time that we feel best fits the infraction. While you are warned, you will have to be on your best behavior. Any further violations while warned will lead to your ejection from the game, as well as a 3 month ban from reapplying. We reserve the right to eject anyone from the game immediately for behavior that we feel is particularly egregious. Immediate ejections will accompany a permanent ban for application to fortress RP. A player is always welcome to try an appeal their warnings/ejections in a calm and rational manner.

Everyone is required to post to AC every month - To meet the activity requirements you will need to accomplish one of the following:
- 2 threads with at least 4 comments from your character. Both of these threads must be with different characters. Icon Spam counts as a single comment.

If you are unable to meet these requirements in one month, your character will be placed on probation.
